Great Black-backed Gull (Larus marinus) 3cy, September 30 2001, Boulogne sur Mer, France (50.42 N - 01.34 E).

A few greater and median coverts have been replaced for all-black new feathers. Note the old barred and variegated upper tertials, greater, median and lesser coverts and a few abraded brown scapulars. Primary p9 almost equals p8. P10 is been shed.
