Great Black-backed Gull (Larus marinus) 3cy, October 01 2001, Le Portel - Boulogne sur Mer, France (50.42 N - 01.34 E).

The general appearance in autumn: a dark blackish saddle created by the replaced scapulars and mantle, old barred coverts, combined with primary moult. Primary p7 has been replaced, while p10 is still old. Note the bill coloration.
