Great Black-backed Gull (Larus marinus) adult, March 16 2003, Boulogne-sur-Mer, France (50.42N,01.34E).

Some adults show a faint black sub-terminal ring on the bill. Note that the primary coverts and all other feather tracts are typical adult, with large white tips on the outer primaries and large mirrors on both P9 and P10. A rather small bird, presumably a female.
