Heuglini 2cy, February 12 2011, Morjim Beach, Goa, India. Picture: Tom Tams.

See also Tom's website. Bird with a distinct collar and white head. Lasrge part of the visible underwing ccoverts replaced (2nd gen feathers white). Probably moult in the outer secondaries and/or inner primaries. Several central secondaries seem to be growing.

From the heuglini breeding sites on the Russian tundra, it is about 6.000 km south to reach Goa beach.
