heuglini (sub)adult, August 25 2007, Tampere, Tarastenjarvi (Tara) dump, SW Finland. Image: Hannu Koskinen.

Adult heuglini which has started the complete moult but at very low pace. Right wing: P1-P2 fresh, P3 growing (tip just visible), P4-P10 old. Only P10 with a small mirror. All 10 primaries black. Left wing: all primaries present, but here P1-P3 seem fresh, as well S1. Extensive pattern in primary coverts.
Black centres of greater primary coverts with sharp demarcation, which would indicate 4+cy in western taxa graellsii-intermedius.
