Adult bird, trapped in NE Mongolia. Mongolicus adult AL64. Note black on greater primary coverts, but such well defined, sharply bordered markings are probably also found in mature birds.

Wingtip: Much black. White mirror well separated from small white tip, by broad sub-terminal black band. Short pale tongue on P10, just visible below primary coverts. Tiny mirror on inner web of P9. Full band on P5 and on P4, black spot on P3. No 'white moons', no white tongue tips on P6-P8. Moult score: P1-P10 present, PMS=0.
