Lesser Black-backed Gull (graellsii & intermedius)

A first calendar year bird with a Belgian ring, ringed as pullus at Zeebrugge, Belgium (51.20N 03.11E) on July 12 2003. The upper scapulars show some fresh second generation feathers, which have buffish fringes and a clear anchor pattern. The lower scapulars are still juvenile.
