Lesser Black-backed Gull (graellsii & intermedius)

LBBG 2cy, August 15 2003, Westkapelle, the Netherlands.

A 2cy LBBG, with an average primary moult score: P7 is fully grown and no juvenile primaries left. (In the background, another 2cy LBBG with P7/P10 and right a 3cy LBBG P6/P8).

A pretty advanced individual with already many grey scapulars and missing median coverts. Those median coverts are most probably replaced for third generation coverts and may appear rather plain grey as well, creating the typical grey covert bar in the central wing, as can be found in autumn 2cy and spring 3cy LBBG.
