Lesser Black-backed Gull (graellsii & intermedius)

LBBG 2cy, September 30 2001, Dannes (near Le Portel), NW France.

Some 2cy still show an old p10, while p7 is already full-grown. Many scapulars and median coverts have been replaced by grey-brown feathers. The inner 3 greater coverts have been renewed but the central greater coverts are abraded and almost white. Active moult is going on in the lesser coverts.
