LBBG 2cy JS94 September 21 2002, Le Portel, NW France. The primary moult pace is just below average for 2cy Lesser Black-backed Gulls with P8 fully grown. The rectrices are second generation tail-feathers with the fringes at the tips worn away, except R3, which is fresh on the left side and missing on the right side of the tail. The second generation wing-coverts which were replaced in the complete moult last summer appear plain brown, slightly bleached. This bird is missing a few lower lesser coverts and lesser coverts. The fourth tertial has been replaced recently, together with two lower scapulars. This is a smaller (female?) intermedius LBBG. The bird was ringed as pullus at Vest-Agder, southern Norway.
