Lesser Black-backed Gull (graellsii & intermedius)

Lesser Black-backed Gull sub-adult, June 24 2013, Noordwijk, the Netherlands.

Sub-adult LBBG, probably 4CY bird. Note extensive pattern on secondaries, and large dark markings on greater primary coverts. Tiny mirror on P10. Distinct adult-like pattern on P4-P5 indicate this bird is older than 3CY.

This bird is now in its complete moult: P1 new P2 growing, P3 missing, P4-P10 old.
