Yellow-legged Gull lusitanius 1cy October 09 2010, Galicia, Spain. Pictures: Gabriel Martín.
An October 1cy lusitanius from Galicia, to show the common moult pattern and jizz for this taxon. This bird shows a limited number of replaced scapulars, and all wing-coverts and tertials are still juvenile and look relatively fresh.
It's also interesting to see the obvious notched pattern on the greater wing-coverts and on the lower tertials, the neat fringes on the feathers, limited scapular moult and rather streaked head. In general, bird somewhat similar to some argentatus.
