Yellow-legged Gull michahellis EA 543054 8CY, June 24 2002, Papegaaienbek - Maasvlakte, the Netherlands (51.59N;04.02E).

An adult ringed michahellis EA 543054 Museum Paris from France, ringed as pullus in S France in 1995. After taken a short bath and preening at the beach it flew off into the LBBG colony. These adult YLG breed with both Herring Gulls or Lesser Black-backed Gull. Note the differences in structure and colour of the upper-parts in the top image.
The white tip on p10 doesn't merge with the mirror but is separated by a thin sub-terminal band.
This bird was seen before, discovered summer last year, July 2001, by Roland-Jan Buijs at Nieuwdorp landfill, SW Netherlands.
