Yellow-legged Gull michahellis adult, September 22 2002, Etaples, France (50.44N,01.35E).

Primary P7 is fully grown. Note the fine dark streaking around the eye, extending towards the crown and further towards the nape. The moult gap in the greater coverts is closed and the partial autumn moult has started in this individual: the outer median coverts are replaced again. The new outermost medians are already visible, while the central feathers are still missing. One central scapular in the lowest row is missing.
