Cachinnans - nest Lelystad 223 (was y-X540-2022)

General remarks:

  • Eggs: Volume measured by Stonehouse (1964) and Spaans & Spaans (1975), which make comparison possible with data from Texel (Camphuysen pers comm 16.04.2020).
  • Nest 223 positioned high on breakwater dam 2 in a Blackberry complex, just 5 meters north of nest 17.
  • ID certain in 2022, both partners are cachinnans, but female y-X540 has some hybrid vibe, maybe due to its obvious sub-adult plumage.
  • ID certain in 2023, both partners are cachinnans, but female y-X540 not breeding here this season.
location April 19th, 2022: nest y-X540 behind nest 17. April 9th, 2022: nest location with pair Caspian Gull. April 26th, 2023: exact same nest location.

27-05-2023 pulli: 3x ringed.
18-06-2023 pulli: g-8|B & g-8|E trapped in water, with net. Measured. Not in fledged cohort, too young.
