Atlantic YLG (atlantis) sub-adult, October 13 2009, São Miguel - Azores Islands. Picture: Dominic Mitchell. Combination of adult-like plumage, bold white tips on primaries and bill pattern suggests 4cy. Last phase of complete moult: P8 fully grown.

Note dark centres on recently replaced greater primary coverts, often an indication for sub-adult plumage in Herring and Yellow-legged Gulls.
