Herring Gull 2cy (argentatus), December 23 2010, Scheveningen, the Netherlands.
Tail and primary pattern typical for this age. Primaries brown, without white tips on central feathers.
Large, stocky bird from northern populations (probably, not ringed). Tertial #3, several median and inner lower lesser coverts have been replaced recently, probably in the partial autumn moult. Pattern again very 2nd gen like (transversal bars), not aduilt-like greyish based with ill-dfefined pattern.
