Herring Gull 2cy (argentatus), December 23 2010, Scheveningen, the Netherlands.
Tail and primary pattern typical for this age. Note also the vermiculation on the extensive brown secondary centres, typical for 2nd gen feathers. Primaries brown, without white tips on central feathers.
Already some scapulars replaced for greyish feathers, still probably argentatus from Scandinavia (probably, not ringed). Upper tertials replaced recently, probably in the partial autumn moult. Pattern again very 2nd gen like (transversal bars), not aduilt-like greyish based with ill-defined pattern.
