Most Yellow-legged Gulls (about 75%) show wing-covert moult by the end of September. Here is an example of an individual with the inner two greater coverts, a few lower lesser coverts and lesser coverts have been replaced. Note in the bottom picture that both the lower scapulars and the front mantle feathers are still juvenile.
In general a typical michahellis with a powerful bill, strong breasted, typical tail pattern and inner primary pattern and obvious all pink legs without dark shins.
