Photo 0487: Yellow-legged Gull michahellis 2cy, April 29 2003, Boulogne-sur-Mer, NW France (50.42N,1.34E). The average April 2cy michahellis in plumage
and jizz. This is a 2cy michahellis with P1-P2 missing. The
tail-feathers R2 have been moulted symmetrically to second generation in
the post-juvenile moult (first pre-basic moult). 1-25% of the scapulars are third generation: only two lower scapulars have been replaced for grey-based feathers and 1-25% of the upper scapulars have been replaced for grey-based feathers. The orbital ring starts to turn reddish. |
