A 2cy michahellis from
late-April. This is an example of michahellis which do not replace
many wing-coverts in the partial autumn moult as 1cy. In general, the
wing-coverts panel consists mainly of abraded juvenile feathers. In this
individual, the outer lower lesser coverts and outer median coverts are
still present, indicating that the complete moult may not have started yet
in the wing-coverts. Nevertheless, P1-P2 may be missing already.
All the tertials and wing-coverts appear juvenile, although there are at
least one lower lesser covert and three lesser coverts of old second
generation.
This is probably a female, together with two other 2cy michahellis.
