A 2cy michahellis from
late-April. This individual has included many wing-coverts in the partial autumn moult as
1cy (first pre-basic moult). The inner greater coverts, most of the
visible median and lower lesser coverts and randomly inner lesser coverts
have all been replaced for second generation feathers. These feathers are
slightly worn by late-April. The three upper tertials were replaced in
this partial moult as well, contrasting with the old juvenile lower
tertials.
The recently replaced upper scapulars are plain grey with a black
shaft-streak.
Note that R1 on the right-hand side has been replaced for second
generation as well.
