9981: Yellow-legged Gull michahellis 2cy, April 19 2002, Etaples,
NW France (50.42N,1.34E).
An example of 2cy michahellis with
all the wing-coverts still juvenile. In the scapulars, a few feathers are
missing and indicate that the complete moult started, but still there are
no third generation upper scapulars. This is an iluustrative
representative of the "slowest moulting" of 2cy michahellis.
All 2cy michahellis present at Etaples in April 2002 had moulted
the scapulars to second generation feathers. Note the neck-collar, running
down along the side-breast.
