photo 5389: Yellow-legged Gull michahellis 3cy, October 03 2002, Etaples, France (50.42N,1.34E). In the picture from left to right: (near) adult, 1cy and 3cy michahellis. The 3cy bird has P10 fully grown. Note the immature broad dark bill-band. The complete moult in the upper-parts and head feathers have been finished, leaving birds with typical streaked heads on crown, nape and ear-coverts. This individual has the streaking running down the hind neck. It has relatively small tips on the outer primaries P7-P10 and immature barring in the wing-coverts: barring on the third and fourth tertials, brown feathers in the outer lesser coverts (the carpal edge), the outer lower lesser coverts, outer median coverts and inner & outer greater coverts.
