photo 02:
Yellow-legged Gull michahellis 4cy, August 25 2000, Etaples, France (50.43N,01.37E).
As in most individuals, this 4cy michahellis
shows features of both adults and immatures. Now the greater coverts have
been shed and the secondaries are exposed, the brownish centres can be
seen, clearly indicating this individual is not in full adult plumage. On
the other hand, coverts and scapulars are all grey and the old abraded P10
clearly shows a (small) mirror.
