Yellow-legged Gull michahellis adult, June 28 2003, Dannes, Boulogne-sur-Mer, France (50.44N,01.35E)

A typical adult michahellis. Primary moult score: P7-P10 are still old, P6 has been dropped. P9 has a small mirror; the mirror on P10 is merges with the white tip, a split black sub-terminal band. The tail is white, there is no black on the bill, the red spot on the bill continues on the upper mandible, all suggesting this is a bird in full adult plumage in the Dannes gravel pit. Note the coral red orbital ring.
