Injured bird, found at the mussel-fields of Le Portel. The lack of black on the bill and the plain grey greater primary coverts indicative for full adultness. Average moult score for mid-August michahellis. P8-P10 are still old, P4 is fully grown, P5 is at the length of P3 and P6 is at the length of P1. P7 is completely missing. Michahellis, on average, has a larger moult gap than argenteus. Both P9 and P10 have a mirror on the inner and outer-web. The tail and all secondaries are old and present. The orbital ring is red, the yellow iris has no speckling and the yellow bill has a red gonydeal spot which extends on the upper mandible. Note that the outer greater coverts are missing.
