Etaples. Average moult stage in the primaries: P8-P10 still old, P4 fully grown and P5 at the
length of P3. Average Primary Moult Score (PMS): about 28 by August 10. All rectrices and secondaries old and
present in the vast majority of full adult birds, showing heavy wear in the
tail-feather tips. Note the red
orbital ring, large red gonydeal spot which extends on the upper mandible, deep yellow iris and
deep yellow legs in adult plumage. Both P9 and P10 have a mirror, particularly
in adult males.
