Yellow PKND and metal PLG DN-28664; ringed as pullus on May 25 2012 at Kozielno, Paczkow, S-SW Poland, (50°28' N,  16°58' E).

In this area are mixed breeding colonies (near Katowice), with far most birds breeding here are cachinnans, but in this area also records of very few michahellis from the south (e.g. ringed female from Italy) and argentatus from eastern Germany are possible (see PDF).

PKND is classic cachinnans.

Typical long-call in cachinnans, sounds 'laughing'. With some experience, cachinnans can be picked out of gull flocks on call alone.

Strong patterned 2nd gen feathers with irregular bordered dark centres on scapulars.

Note the presence of a venetian blind effect much depends of the viewing angle relative to the observer, illustrated by the image below.
