Larus argentatus sensu lato P429 adult, 2012-2013, Zastow Karczmiski, Poland & February 2014, Bucharest, Romania.

Green P429, ringed as breeding adult trapped at the nest. Short pale tongue on P10, and black on P5 restricted to outerweb. No speckling in iris. Yellow orbital ring and gape. No red on upper mandible; no black on the bill. Robust pink legs. All fine for argentatus.

Trapped. Maybe the bird is a hybrid (F2 or backross cach x arg), but all looks fine and spot-on for argentatus. If some influences from other species are present at all, it is barely detectable.

Herring Gull ringed in the Lublin province on the Vistula river, now in winter found in Bucharest, Romania. A bird wintering in the area of the Black Sea, which is very unusual for this species.
