Herring Gull (argenteus) A:D29 2CY, September 20 2015, IJmuiden, the Netherlands (52.27N
04.33E).
Ringed as pullus in Scotland orange A:D29 and metal BTO GR66377, ringed in 2014. A project run by Dave Grant of the Ayr University. Dave reports: This Herring Gull was ringed as a chick on Lady Isle, near Troon, south Ayrshire, south-west Scotland on 15/7/2014 as part of a wider research project that I am leading. This is the second sighting of this bird away from its natal home. It is also the furthest sighting of any Herring Gull, to date, from Lady Isle (the previous record was of a bird in southern Ireland). Many thanks for the sighting of A:D29.
Recoveries:
20/10/2014 - Hoganfield Loch, Glasgow
20/09/2015 - Ijmuiden Beach, Netherlands
Bird in complete moult: P8/-. No sign of partial autumn moult (yet?).
