Female Herring Gull, ringed as rooftop breeding adult in municipality Katwijk. Ringed by ringing team Roland-Jan Buijs, see BLOG BUIJS (in Dutch).

This is a female fouraging within busy streets with lots of tourists. They are very keen on french fries, icecreams etc and very impressive in their methods; people in the street really feel 'attacked' by the birds. Interestingly, this female finetunes the method with her partner blue AJ. The female informs the male when see notices a sandwich or icecream. When the person is facing away, the male swoops over your back and steels the food, all with a split second.
