Yellow-legged Gull michahellis 1CY 453T October 13 2001, Westkapelle, the Netherlands. 

The inner median and greater coverts have been moulted recently for second generation coverts. The juvenile tail shows already wear in the tips. This 1CY Yellow-legged Gull is ringed 453T and was born in the Camarque colony, S France. Note the abrasion in the tertials. Moult score: all tertials juvenile, tail juvenile, greater coverts: #1 old juvenile, #2-3 fresh second generation, from #4 outwards old juvenile (abrasion to halfway greater covert row); medians: #1 old juvenile, #2-3 fresh second generation, from #4 outwards old juvenile; lower lesser coverts: probably #1-3 missing, from #4 outwards juvenile; lesser coverts: two feathers fresh second generation, 1 feather missing; all scapulars and mantle feathers second generation.
