Yellow-legged Gull michahellis 1CY HES 894333 October 04 2002, Etaples, France.

1CY michahellis: Sempach Helvetica 894333. It was ringed at Fanel, Switzerland (46.59N-07.03E) last summer and now recovered at Etaples (50.40N-01.37E).

This bird has just started the partial autumn moult in the wing-coverts: most coverts and tertials are still juvenile, but three lesser coverts have been shed and will be replaced. All tail-feathers are still juvenile as well, but most of the scapulars have been replaced for second generation feathers: only 2 rear lower scapulars are still juvenile, all other scapulars are moulted to second generation. Most of the head, breast and belly has been moulted to second generation as well.
