Yellow-legged Gull michahellis 1CY August 11 2003, Etaples, NW France.

This 1CY michahellis has only slight wear in the inner wing-coverts, upper tertials and scapulars. Many 1CY michahellis show extensive dark centres of the median, central and outer greater coverts, reaching to the edge of the feather at the base. In this individual, many of these feathers show a notched pattern and the pale tips on the median coverts are relatively broad. Most upper scapulars have been replaced for second generation feathers, showing obvious broad barring. Some upper lower scapulars have been replaced as well.
