Yellow-legged Gull michahellis 2CY, May 04 2001, Etaples, NW France (50.42N,1.34E).

2CY michahellis, probably male. In the scapulars, 6-7 feathers are third generation grey-based feathers, while the other scapulars barred second generation feathers. The recently moulted scapulars show a blue-grey hue.
The rectrices and all the greater coverts are still juvenile. The upper tertial is missing. In the median coverts, one central feather is second generation; four inner lesser coverts are second generation as well.

Note the abraded tips of the juvenile secondaries, visible beneath the greater coverts.
