A more or less ordinary 3CY Yellow-legged
Gull, with P10 fully grown, the primary moult score is 50. Note the immature broad dark bill-band and the red spot, almost completely
obscured by the black. The black bill-band runs back to the base along the
culmen. The complete moult in the upper-parts and head-feathers have been
finished by late September, leaving birds with typical streaked heads on crown, nape and
ear-coverts.
It has relatively small tips on the
outer primaries P7-P10 and immature barring in the wing-coverts: barring
on three central greater coverts.
The tail is completely white.
