Yellow-legged Gull michahellis sub-adult, August 08 2003, Le Portel, France (50.42N,1.34E).

Note the primary moult stage: P8-10 are old third generation (with the mirror on P10 just visible from below in the far wing) and P5 full-grown. P5 now exceeds the primaries, mostly because of the very abraded stage of the second and third tertials. Tertial #1 has been replaced recently. This individual also started the complete moult in the wing-coverts, with the outer medians and inner greaters replaced and a gaps in the outer greater coverts bar. Note the brown secondaries, now visible.
