Cachinnans - nest 168

General remarks:

  • Eggs: Volume measured by Stonehouse (1964) and Spaans & Spaans (1975), which make comparison possible with data from Texel (Camphuysen pers comm 16.04.2020).
  • Nest 168 positioned on section "dam 1 blocks", at end of blocks, east, between Rose bushes, halfway to top, only visible from N-side. 168 sprayed on block.
  • ID certain in 2023: both parents are Caspian Gull cachinnans, one is adult, one is sub-adult (4CY).

OBSERVATIONS:
13-05-2023 nest: 3 eggs. Measured & water test: A 3 mm - floating
adult: 2 adults present. B 2 mm - floating
C 2 mm - floating
18-05-2023 nest: 1 chick (too small to ring), 1 hatching, 1 egg still complete
27-05-2023 nest: empty, no chicks found.
25-06-2023 pulli: 2 chicks, not ringed. Just outside the category "fledged", but "2 chicks fledged" will likely be the result for this nest in 2023.
