Cachinnans - nest Lelystad 109 & 114

General remarks:

  • Eggs: Volume measured by Stonehouse (1964) and Spaans & Spaans (1975), which make comparison possible with data from Texel (Camphuysen pers comm 16.04.2020).
  • Nest 109 & 114 positioned on dam 1 at T split; 109 = 40 meters south of lighthouse, on westside dam, between blocks. Nest 114 = 25 meters south of lighthouse.
Nest close to Spoonbill nests, therefore limited visits. Instead: observed from distance with binoculars or telescope.
  • ID certain in 2022 for 109: both parents are cachinnans.
  • ID certain in 2022 for 114: one parent is cachinnans, partner is Herring Gull argenteus. No eggs in 2022.
