General remarks:

  • Eggs: Volume measured by Stonehouse (1964) and Spaans & Spaans (1975), which make comparison possible with data from Texel (Camphuysen pers comm 16.04.2020).
  • Nest X60J positioned on dam 2: 25 mtr east of lighthouse, old Spoonbill nest, between bushes = nest 229-2022 of sub-adults.
  • ID certain in 2023: female is 5CY y-X60J. Partner is sub-adult male cachinnans.
  • ID certain in 2024: female is 6CY y-X60J. Partner is (adult?) male cachinnans (maybe same bird as 2023, now 5CY, see secondary spot in left wing).

26-04-2023 nest: 3 eggs. Measured, no water test, date of A-egg known.
27-04-2023 adult: 4CY cach at nest = partner 2.
30-04-2023 adult: X60J at nest.
11-05-2023 pulli 1 chick ringed, 2 other chicks?
27-05-2023 pulli 2x chicks measured: r-77 & g-8|9.
adult: patrolling overhead in this area: w[482:U].
